Critics mostly agree that Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum's undercover cop comedy is 'a vibrant reboot of your rather forgettable '80s TV series.'

Where my laughs at?

We're coping with a far-too-serious start in the 2012 box office. The 1st three-and-a-half months of year have already been dominated by weepy Watch 21 Jump Street Online dramas ("The Vow"), kid-friendly animated fare ("The Lorax"), middling horror flicks ("The Devil Inside") and flicks which will have kept geek flags round the country flying high but instead could barely inspire a gust of nerdy enthusiasm ("John Carter," "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance"). The adventure-comedy "Journey 2: The Mystery Island" - #4, somehow, about the year's top-grossing-movies list - elicited more forehead-smacking guffaws than genuine belly laughs Watch 21 Jump Street Online Free.

"21 Jump Street" is getting ready to change all that. As our friends over at NextMovie put it, Jonah Hill's new film may be the "first must-see comedy of year." The vast majority of critics agree, praising the movie's big laughs, star players and killer supporting performances. Please read on for any deep dive into the "21 Jump Street" reviews.

The storyplot
"Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum as novice cops who're expected to go undercover as high-school students to bust up a drug ring? Come on, that movie's likely to blow, right? But '21 Jump Street' doesn't blow - that may have already been this movie's raunchy, self-deprecating tagline when it didn't already have several. '21 Jump Street' isn't a wild, fresh reinvention in the movie-clich?-spoofing genre - this isn't 'Airplane!' we're speaking about - but it is also not only a drearily overfamiliar retread from it." - Dana Stevens, Slate Watch 21 Jump Street Online

The Laughs
"A vibrant reboot of any rather forgettable '80s TV series sounds almost impossible to get off. And yet '21 Jump Street' accomplishes it using a fresh script, flip humor and inspired casting. ... It's no surprise that Hill, as bumbling officer Schmidt, generates a great number of laughs. But who does expect Tatum, as being the dimwitted officer Jenko, to get so comical? More regularly cast as a standard heartthrob - most recently inside sappy 'The Vow' - Tatum holds his or her own with Hill and every other comic actor inside the film. Their chemistry is terrific." - Claudia Puig, USA Today

The Supporting Players
"Rob Riggle as a blustery coach, Chris Parnell being a self-important drama teacher, Jake Johnson as being a fed-up principal, Ellie Kemper like a science teacher together with the hots and then some for Jenko -- they're all about as hilarious as can be while barely being there. With Jenko falling out with Schmidt, Schmidt falling for classmate Molly (the utterly adorable Brie Larson) and Capt. Dickson breathing down each of their necks, funds an abundance of hijinks to serve, and that is certainly not just mentioning several cameos." - William Goss, Film.com

The Dissenters
"At times '21 Jump Street' seems sufficiently clever and sly to avoid the pitfalls that befall most movie adaptations of TV series. During the early going, it mocks its own existence, its embrace of clich?s, and, indeed, the conceit at its heart. ... But directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller quickly abandon any pretense which they need to puncture the silliness from the idea and, instead, embrace it. And after that capitulation, the film gets a hit-and-miss hodgepodge of plotting and jokes redolent at the very least as much of desperation adjusted inspiration." - Shawn Levy, The Oregonian

The last Word
" '21 Jump Street' admits before it starts, in a nicely timed and incredibly meta joke, it is really just an attempt to mine days gone by for nostalgia and ideas -- in this case, adapting a somewhat beloved '80s Tv program about undercover cops in senior high school. But that may have been Sony's goal when they put in place the movie with star and producer Jonah Hill, the movie itself is really a justification to blend a surprisingly touching buddy story with wild, absurdist comedy.... Unpredictable and incredibly silly though real emotional stakes, '21 Jump Street' accocunts for for any shaggy script using a wily, endearing souped up that is like far from a tired retread." - Katey Rich, Cinema Blend
